General land use plan

Except the water part of Saemengeum Lake, a total of development area is 291㎢, which is composed of 41.7㎢ for industry and research sites, 52.0㎢ for international cooperation sites, 36.8㎢ for tourism and leisure sites, 94.3㎢ for agrobiological sites, 42.0㎢ for environmental and ecological sites, and 24.2㎢ for hinterland cities and other facilities.

Zone 1, Saemangeum tourism leisure sites

The tourism leisure space of experience and staying-type integrating human beings and nature as well as environment and culture
  • Located at the eastern side of Saemangeum Seawall No. 1, with its scale of 9.9㎢
  • Formulating the international tourist hub fusing and converging large-scale complex resorts, marine theme parks, sports facilities, and shopping and cultural facilities
  • Introducing golf courses, club sports theme parks, town houses, educational training complexes, condominiums, tourist hotels, and air leisure complexes

Gogunsan Archipelago Zone

    • Not only Sinsido Island in which Scholar Choi Chi Won stayed because he was fascinated by its beautiful scenery but also Wolyeongsan Mountain from which the sound of reading books was known to be heard to China
